Thai stars and fans pay tribute to late Channel 7 actor Akkaphan Namart

According to Thairaththousands of people, including many renowned Thai artists, have visited Akkaphan’s family to pay their respects.

Min Pechaya said Akkaphan as always warm, humorous, and supportive of his fellow colleagues. She recalled receiving guidance from him on numerous occasions while acting together. The two starred as lovers in three different productions: “Stairway to His Heart” (2011), “The Fruit Falls Far from the Tree” (2016), and “Three Lives” (2018).

Actress Grace Karnklao Duaysianklao, who worked with Akkaphan on “Ruea Manut” (2019), praised him for his eagerness to learn, determination, punctuality, and hard work, calling him an example for young actors to follow.

Akkaphan’s close male colleagues, Chap Varakorn, Tyfoon Takphet Lekavijit, and Kiatipoom Banluechairit, comforted his mother, wife, and younger sister. Actor Chane Tawatson Plengsiriwat, along with 12 other artists, supported the family during the past two days. On social media, Chane wrote: “I’ve come to say goodbye, dear brother. I hope your journey is peaceful and without pain. I miss you deeply.”

Actor and presenter Kanchai Kamnerdploy became emotional while remembering Akkaphan’s discipline and kindness. “He was extremely disciplined, and there were numerous occasions when I felt ashamed for being late to work. Every time we met at events, Akkaphan would always come up to me, shake my hand, and give me a hug. I wish him peace in the most beautiful place and hope he remains cherished by everyone.”

On September 23, actor Pattaradet Sa-nguankwamdee and Miss Universe Thailand Fonthip Watcharatrakul attended a prayer ceremony for Akkaphan. Actress Panward Hemmanee tearfully said goodbye to her younger colleague, hugging Akkaphan’s mother and offering her and the family strength and good health.

Fans from Thailand and across Asia sent funeral wreaths and messages of sympathy. Hundreds of supporters gathered at the temple to assist the family, guiding and welcoming visitors.

Akkaphan graduated from Bangkok University’s Faculty of Communication Arts and began his acting career with Channel 3 before transitioning to Channel 7.

He earned the Golden TV Award for Best Supporting Actor for his performance in “The Moon with Tiger Stripes” and later took on leading roles in popular series such as “Hitech Maid,” “Dual Verses,” and “Beloved Navy,” gaining widespread fame with his role in “Thaviphop.
