Pitra Paksha: The last solar eclipse of the year and Sarva Pitru Amavasya is Wednesday i.e. today. On this day, there is Ashwin Krishna Amavasya Tithi, Uttara Phalguni Nakshatra, Brahma Yoga, Chatushpad Karan, North Direction and Moon in Virgo. The solar eclipse will take place from 9.13 pm in the night. This solar eclipse will last for 6 hours and 4 minutes. After that there will be salvation. This solar eclipse will not be visible in India, hence its Sutak period will not be observed. In such a situation, there will be no ban on auspicious works. Sarva Pitru Amavasya is on the day before the solar eclipse.
On this occasion, Tarpan, Shraddha etc. are performed for the ancestors whose full moon date is known and whose date is not known. On the day of Sarva Pitru Amavasya, the ancestors go back to their ancestral world. To appease the ancestors and appease Pitru Dosh, rituals like Tarpan, Pind Daan, Brahmin feast, Panchbali, Tripindi Shraddha etc. are performed. Pitru Paksha ends with Sarva Pitru Amavasya. Sarvartha Siddhi Yoga is being formed on this day.
There is also a fast on Wednesday on the day of Sarva Pitru Amavasya. Those whose horoscope has the defect of Mercury, should worship Lord Ganesha along with fasting on Wednesday. Moong laddu should be offered to Ganpati Maharaj. The Beej Mantra of Mercury should be chanted. With this remedy, Mercury will be strengthened and its auspicious effects will be visible in life. Modak, vermillion, marigold flower, durva, banana etc. are definitely kept in the worship of Lord Ganesha. Tulsi leaves are prohibited in worship.
