The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has mandated service quality improvement after a decade of previous rules. These updates are designed to ensure a better experience for customers.
2. Penalty for service interruption
Telecom companies can be fined if there is a service interruption for more than 24 hours in any area.
3. Transparency in service availability
Telecom companies are required to publish details about the services they offer at specific locations on their websites, allowing customers to make informed choices.
4. Control over spam calls
Taking a significant step to tackle spam calls, TRAI has directed telecom companies to revise their service policies. Non-compliance could lead to fines for companies originating spam calls.
