New technology will be used in Women's T20 World Cup, now DRS will be more accurate

Sports Desk, Obnews: The Women's T20 World Cup 2024 is scheduled to begin from October 3. This tournament was earlier to be played in Bangladesh, but in view of the poor conditions there, it was shifted to UAE. New technology is going to be used in this tournament. ICC has announced to implement smart replay system in this tournament.

At least 28 cameras are going to be used for the coverage of the Women's T20 World Cup 2024. There will also be a decision review system in this tournament. Which will feature the Hawk-Eye Smart Replay system that enables the TV umpire to instantly review synchronized multi-angle footage to make accurate decisions. The smart replay system will be used for the first time in the Women's T20 World Cup 2024. Earlier, the smart replay system was used in The Hundred and IPL 2024.

In the smart replay system, the third umpire will now get direct inputs from Hawk-Eye operators who will be sitting in the same room with the umpires. TV director who served as an intermediary between the third umpire and Hawk-Eye operators. He will not be a part of this system. The third umpire will now be able to see the visuals better.

Stump cameras record any action at a slower speed of around 50 frames per second, while Hawk-Eye cameras record at around 300 frames per second, which means longer for umpires to confirm their decisions. There will be accurate footage. Teams will benefit from the quick decision of DRS as it will save their time.

For your information, let us tell you that till now only Australia, England and West Indies have won the title of this ICC tournament. Australia is currently having a monopoly in this tournament. Till now, Australia has won this title maximum 6 times.
