A teacher of Purvanchal University in Jaunpur, Uttar Pradesh has been accused of talking dirty to a student. Police have registered a case on the complaint of the student and are busy investigating the matter. The accused teacher said that he is ready for every investigation. He said that if found guilty, strict action should be taken. I am ready to face every punishment.
Actually, Dr. Sudhir Upadhyay is a contractual teacher in the Environment Department of Purvanchal University. A first year graduation student alleges that the teacher talked dirty to her. The student complained about this to the Vice Chancellor. As soon as the complaint was received, the Vice Chancellor formed a committee in the university and ordered an investigation. Students also demonstrated demanding action against the accused teacher. However, the police have registered a case on the basis of the complaint and are busy investigating the matter.
Vice Chancellor of Purvanchal University, Prof. Vandana Singh said that a teacher has been accused of harassment by a student. The investigation is being conducted by a university committee. He said that but the students are protesting demanding termination of the accused teacher even before the investigation. But if this is done then it will not be fair. Professor Vandana said that if found guilty in the investigation, strict action will be taken against the teacher by terminating him.
After the student made allegations, accused teacher Sudhir Upadhyay posted on social media demanding an impartial investigation into the allegations against him. He wrote in his post that such conspiracies are being hatched against us, due to which our mental and physical condition has deteriorated badly. A girl is being brought forward and allegations are being made against her. The level of conspiracy has increased to such an extent that even our journalist brothers have raised this issue to such an extent that my image has been completely tarnished. I am ready for every investigation and if found guilty, I am ready to face the harshest punishment.
As soon as the case was registered against Dr. Sudhir Singh, the self-financed teachers union came to the rescue. A letter has been given to the Vice Chancellor and the Governor demanding an impartial investigation into the allegations made by the student. Teachers union says that Prof. Sudhir Vice President is included in the list of 2 percent scientists of the world. It was due to his popularity and hard work that an MOU was signed between Purvanchal University and the University of Russia. The teachers union said that this is being done by conspiring against Sudhir in the university itself. This should be seriously investigated and strict action should be taken against those who do this. The teachers union is standing with them to get them justice.
Jaunpur DSP Parmanand Kushwaha said that a case has been registered on the basis of the student's complaint. After investigation, if the teacher is found accused then necessary action will be taken.
