Step 1: Choose Your Path – Faelin or Faerin?

To obtain the Deceit long gun, you must embark on a journey that leads you to face Faelinone of the two final bosses in Losomn. As you traverse the world, you’ll be tasked with choosing between two rulers: Faelin, the King of Light, or Faerin, his shadowy counterpart. The path you choose dictates which weapon you’ll receive. In this case, you’ll want to defeat Faelin.

Step 2: Navigate the Beatific Palace

Start your journey in Losomn at the Palace Courtyard, which leads you to the Beatific Palace. Here, you need to collect two critical items—Mural pieces—which will allow you to complete a puzzle. These mural pieces are hidden across different areas of the palace, with one located in a small room past the library and the other deep within the Malefic Palace. Solving this puzzle is essential for summoning Faelin.

Step 3: Defeat Faelin

After completing the mural, you’ll confront Faelin in a dramatic battle. This boss fight is no easy feat. Faelin has a devastating set of attacks, but he has a glaring weakness—his head. Target his weak spot for critical damage, and with enough perseverance, you’ll eventually bring him down. Upon defeating him, Faelin will drop the Imposter’s Heartthe key material for crafting Deceit.

It’s important to note that Faelin must be defeated in his night form. If you mistakenly kill Faerin or Faelin during the day, you’ll receive the Goods splitter melee weapon instead of Deceit.

Step 4: Craft Deceit at Ward 13

Once you have the Imposter’s Heartyour next step is to craft Deceit. Head over to Ward 13where you’ll find Ava McCabethe weapon crafter. She’ll create Deceit for you, provided you have the necessary materials:

  • Imposter’s Heart x1
  • Lumenite Crystals x7
  • 650 Scrap

Interact with McCabe, and after supplying the items, you’ll receive your very own Deceit long gun.

Deceit’s Power and Capabilities

Deceit is a versatile long gun that deals high damage with pinpoint accuracy. At level one, the gun deals 144 damagewhich can be upgraded up to 360 damage at level 10. It also has a 15% critical hit chance and a 5% stagger modifiermaking it a top choice for players who favor precision and high burst damage from long range.

One of the most exciting features of Deceit is its built-in mod called Ouroboros. Activating this mod releases sword fragments that orbit around your character. When you perform melee attacks, the swords launch at your enemies, dealing significant critical damage. This feature is especially useful for players who prefer to alternate between ranged and melee combat.

Deceit works exceptionally well with certain builds. Pairing it with the Hunter and Gunslinger archetypes is a popular choice, as these classes maximize the gun’s damage potential. Additionally, equipping mutators like Supercharger further enhances its power, making Deceit one of the most devastating weapons in the game when used correctly.

Deceit vs. Godsplitter: Which Should You Choose?

If you’re torn between the Deceit and the Godsplitter, it boils down to your preferred playstyle. Deceit excels as a long-range weapon, perfect for picking off enemies with deadly accuracy from a distance. Its powerful mod and high damage output make it a favorite for players who prioritize ranged combat. On the other hand, Goods splitter is a melee weapon with a focus on heavy attacks and weak point damage. If you enjoy getting up close and personal with your enemies, Godsplitter might be the better choice.

Ultimately, both weapons are excellent, but Deceit offers unparalleled long-range capabilities and flexibility, making it an appealing option for those who enjoy versatile, high-damage gunplay.
