GOX Pass is being considered as India's first passenger privilege initiative by an airport, which will provide massive discounts to travellers arriving at MOPA via domestic, international or charter flights, the airport said. "This innovative initiative promises discounts of up to 50 percent on a wide array of leisure, shopping, dining, and wellness experiences across Goa," the statement read. Operated by GMR, Goa International Airport Ltd, a subsidiary of GMR Airports Ltd said that the GOX pass will enhance visitor engagement. With the GOX Pass, travellers will gain access to exclusive offers at over 34 partner outlets across the state. Passengers can take advantage of these discounts by presenting their GOX Boarding Pass along with a photo ID at the partner locations, the release said, according to PTI. The offers under the GOX Pass are valid until December 30, 2024, encouraging tourists to delve into Goa's vibrant culture and attractions. "By providing unique benefits to our passengers, GOX Pass not only elevates travel experiences but also supports the local economy and encourages repeat visits to Goa," stated R V Sheshan, Chief Executive Officer of GGIAL. Meanwhile, tourism operators in Goa started erecting beach shacks earlier this year compared to previous years. Incidentally, two chartered flights with tourists from Russia arrived at Manohar International Airport on October 2. The arrival of chartered flights coincides with the start of the tourist season. "This is the first time that shacks are waiting for tourists to come. Usually, tourists wait for shacks to come up. Of the 350-off beach shacks, some 80 per cent have already been erected and the rest will come up by October 15," said Cruz Cardoso, president of the Shack Owners' Welfare Society, PTI reported. The beach shacks are dismantled before monsoon annually in the coastal state. Aviral Mathur, a New Delhi resident was quoted as saying, "Goa has opened earlier this time. Beach shacks have been erected and hotels have installed beach beds," he said and expressed surprise as the season has started earlier than usual.
