Know the story behind the temple

The history of this Maa Kushmanda temple is old, in which the idol style of two-faced Kushmanda Devi is found in the Maratha period, which is believed to be between the second to fifth century. It is said that the one who discovered this temple was a cowherd named Kohra. He had constructed Maa Ki Madhiya at this place in the year 1330, after which a businessman got this temple renovated in the year 1890. .

A story about this temple says that earlier there used to be a forest near this temple in which pet animals were taken for grazing in the area. Every day a cow used to come to this place and spill her milk. The owner of this cow became worried that his cow’s milk was disappearing every day and when he followed his cow, he saw the cow spilling milk at this very place. When he excavated this place, he found this idol of the mother and when he tried to take out this idol, he got lost while digging, after which he made Madhiya. It was a miracle that Mata’s Purti could not be taken out. It was also a miracle that after digging for so many days, the digging would start again from the same place.
