The busiest time of the Indian cricket season has started. Along with the India-Bangladesh Test series, Duleep Trophy and Irani Cup have also been played. Now the T20 series between India and Bangladesh is also starting. Besides, Ranji Trophy is also going to start soon. At such a time, reports of injuries among Indian players have also started coming. All-rounder Shivam Dubey was out due to injury a day before the start of the T20 series. Earlier, the stormy Indian fast bowler Umran Malik has also been ruled out for the next few weeks due to injury. Although Umran is not a part of this T20 series, due to this injury he will not be able to play the initial matches of Ranji Trophy for his team Jammu and Kashmir.

Out for several weeks due to injury

According to a report, this 24 year old superfast bowler has suffered a hip injury. Due to this injury, Umran Malik may stay away from cricket action for the next 6 weeks. That means Umran Malik will not be able to play in the initial matches of Ranji Trophy and this is a big blow for the Jammu and Kashmir team. This news has come just 5 days before the start of Ranji Trophy season. The first phase of the tournament will start from October 11. If Umran remains out of the field for 6 weeks, then due to this he will not be able to play in the first 5 matches of the group stage of the tournament.

This time Ranji Trophy is being organized in two different phases, in which the first phase will start from October 11 and the last matches of this phase will start on November 13. During this period, each team will play 5-5 matches in its respective group. After this, the second phase will start from January 23, in which two group stage matches and then the knock out round will be played. In such a situation, Jammu and Kashmir and Umran will only hope that they can take part in the matches starting from next January.

Played international match last year

Umran surprised everyone with his fast bowling against Sunrisers Hyderabad in the last matches of IPL 2021. Due to this, Hyderabad retained him in 2022 and in that season, Umran again consistently bowled balls at a speed of more than 150 kilometers per hour and also took many wickets. Due to this performance, he also made his international debut in June 2022. Then for the next one year, he got many opportunities but due to lack of consistency in performance, he has not returned to Team India since July 2023.
