Ration Card Linked With Electricity Meter: The Government of India runs many schemes for the citizens of the country. People belonging to different sections of the country benefit from these schemes of the government. Most of the schemes of the government are brought keeping in mind the poor needy people. Not only the central government but the governments of all the states of India bring schemes for the citizens of their state. There are many such people in India.

Who are still unable to arrange two meals for themselves. The government provides ration to such people at a low price under the Central Food Security Policy. For this, it is necessary for those people to have a ration card. Only then they get the benefit. Ration card not only provides benefits in food items but also in other schemes. Now the electricity meter of the people of this state will be linked to the ration card, so that the subsidy will reach the account directly.

Electricity meters will be linked to ration card in Himachal Pradesh

The Himachal Pradesh government gives subsidy on electricity to the citizens of its state. Which will now go directly to the consumers' account. For this, the Electricity Board of Himachal Pradesh is now getting the KYC of the people done. Under this, now the electricity meters of the consumers will be linked to the ration card. Under which the subsidy money will be sent directly to the account of the electricity consumers through DBT i.e. Direct Benefit Transfer.

Actually, the government has also taken this step because it will reveal how many electricity meters are in the name of a consumer. Under the scheme, the government is giving subsidy on only one electricity meter to a person. But many people are getting more subsidy if there is more than one meter. It will also be easier for the government to identify the people.

The decision can be implemented from November

This decision has been taken in the cabinet meeting of the Himachal government. At present it has not been implemented in the state. According to the news, the government can implement this decision in the entire state from November. There are about 28.50 lakh electricity consumers in Himachal Pradesh. Out of which about 18 lakh are domestic electricity consumers. To whom the government gives subsidy. But the Himachal Pradesh government will ensure that subsidy is given on only one electricity meter per person.
