Now you can get 2 degrees simultaneously from Delhi University. The university has launched a program in its institutions, under which any student can be admission to 2 courses simultaneously in the same year.

Delhi University has started dual degree programs for those students who want to do two courses simultaneously while studying at the university. According to this new facility, now students can be admission to one degree in regular mode in any college or department of DU, as well as get a second course in Open and Distance Learning (ODL) mode in the School of Open Learning. DU has also issued a notice for this.

As per Council Resolution No.-14 dated 12.07.2024 and Executive Council Resolution No.-5(5-39) dated 27.07.2024, the University has decided to allow the pursuit of two-degree programmes simultaneously within the University, one in regular mode as offered in the colleges/departments of the University and the other in open and distance learning mode as offered in the School of Open Learning, Campus of Open Learning.

What are the terms and conditions?

In this regard, the University has also issued several important terms and conditions, which candidates opting for dual degree programmes have to keep in mind.

Students enrolled or in the process of enrolment in a degree programme and wish to pursue two academic degree programmes in regular mode and ODL mode have to inform the University through the Head of the Department or Principal of the college.

Students cannot take admission in two similar courses such as B.Com (Hons) and B.Com (Pass) simultaneously, even if one of them is intended to be pursued as ODL.

Students who are allowed to pursue two academic degree programmes simultaneously must independently complete all the requirements (attendance, internal assessments, continuing assessments, assignment submissions, presentations, examinations, promotion requirements, etc.) of both academic courses.

To avoid studying the compulsory same courses twice while pursuing two different degree programmes simultaneously, students should study the compulsory courses for the programme enrolled first (regular or ODL) and replace the compulsory courses with appropriate courses for the programme enrolled later. Detailed information on choosing courses can be found on the official notification.

Students will not be allowed to take a major or minor degree in a subject by combining credits earned in two different degree programmes.
