CID was one of the most popular shows on TV. This show started in 1998 and ended in 2018 after maintaining excellent TRP for 20 years. Many dialogues of the show are popular till date. Fans of CID are continuously demanding its new season. Shivaji Satam, who played the lead role of ACP Pradyuman in the show, recently talked about the closure of the show.

Shivaji Satam revealed in an interview that due to the ongoing dispute between the makers of the show and Sony Channel, it had to be closed despite 20 years of success. Shivaji Satam told that there was good competition between both the shows, which became a reason for the closure of CID.

The show's schedule was tampered with

Speaking to Friday Talkies, Satam said, “We used to ask the channel why they were closing it. Our show was at par with KBC. Yes, there was a slight decline in the TRP of the show, but which show does not decline in its TRP? Before closing the show, the channel tampered with its schedule. This show always came at 10 pm, but they started telecasting it at 10:30 pm or sometimes even at 10:45 pm. Because of this also people had reduced watching the show.”

The channel had problems with the makers

Regarding the channel's dispute with the makers, Shivaji Satam said, “The channel had some problem with the makers and wanted to change them. But for us it was not just a matter of loyalty, but a matter of friendship. We progressed together through the show because we were a team. Overall, this show was closed forcefully.”

Apart from Shivaji Satam, actors like Dayanand Shetty, Aditya Srivastava and Dinesh Phadnis played important roles in the show.
