New Delhi: India bounced back in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup with a six-wicket win over Pakistan in Dubai securing their first points in Group A after a 52-run loss to New Zealand while Pakistan had already earned points by defeating Sri Lanka. India now has two group-stage matches left in which it needs to win both of them to boost chances of entering semifinals. The top two from each group are taken to the next phase and India can accumulate a maximum of six points. If New Zealand overhauls Australia six points will do the trick for India to make it to the next round depending upon Pakistan winning only one of the last three matches. If both Pakistan and India win their remaining fixtures and New Zealand defeats Australia a three-way tie at six points will emerge which will be resolved based on the Net Run Rate (NRR). If India defeat Sri Lanka but lose to Australia on the last day of league matches qualification will depend on other results. New Zealand should lose the last two games to Australia and Pakistan or Australia has to lose to both New Zealand and Pakistan so that there is a three-way tie at four points to be decided in the second qualification which will come through NRR.
