It is not within everyone's capacity to understand the politics of Haryana, it is very difficult to predict when the mood of the people here will shift in whose favor. Similar situation is in Rania assembly seat of the state. Here the image of Ranjit Singh of Chautala family is known as a rebel leader. Who is famous for doing politics outside his family. This time also Ranjit Singh is contesting as an independent candidate from this assembly seat, and Shishpal Kamboj from BJP and Sarv Mitter from Congress are in the fray. What decision the public has given in whose favor will be in front of everyone with the election results on October 8.

Rania has the 44th seat among the 90 assemblies of Haryana. In ancient times this city was known as Bhattiyan. Bhatti Raja ruled here. When the queen heard the rumor that the king had been killed, she was so sad that she committed suicide. It was only after this sacrifice that this place was named Rania. This city of Haryana is on the upper bank of Ghaggar River from where both Ellenabad and Sirsa are at equal distance.

Elections were held on this seat for the first time in 2009. INLD dominated here for 10 consecutive years, however in 2019 an independent candidate won here. However, this seat went to the Chautala family only. Ranjit Singh Chautala, son of former Deputy Prime Minister Chaudhary Devi Lal, won the election as an independent.

INLD for 10 years

Talking about the elections of 2009 and 2014, only Indian National Lok Dal got the taste of victory from Rania Assembly seat. Whereas other parties have remained far away from victory here. In the 2009 elections, Ranjit Singh Chautala of Congress had contested against INLD's Kishan Lal Maidan. This is the same Ranjit Singh Chautala who has won this seat as an independent candidate after 10 years.

Ranjit Singh had lost to Kishan Lal in 2009 by about three and a half thousand votes. Even in 2014, Ranjit Singh continued his candidature from Congress. But, this time also INLD's Ram Chandra could not compete with Kamboj. In this election, Govind Kanda of Haryana Lokhit Party also contested, who came second and Ranjit Singh came third.

What happened in the last elections?

In the 2019 elections, Ranjit Singh once again came among the public and came with full preparation. But this time he did not come with the name of any party but came to contest the elections as an independent candidate. Govind Kanda of Haryana Lokhit Party stood in front of him. Ram Chand Kamboj from BJP and Ashok Kumar Verma from INLD got the ticket. Despite many stalwarts, the public supported Ranjit Singh Chautala.

In the election results, Govind Kanda was at second place while Ram Chand Kamboj was at third place. Ranjit Singh registered a spectacular victory. Ranjit supported BJP and also became a cabinet minister in the second government of Manohar Lal Khattar.
