In the Banka district of Bihar, six people—five of them children—were hospitalized after contracting food poisoning, an official said on Tuesday.

They had just returned from a fair in Kendau when the tragedy happened in Chaukhat hamlet.

They said they had eaten snacks during the fair and napped after returning home, explaining why they had eaten less supper.

They complained of vomiting and diarrhea later on Tuesday, around one in the morning, and were sent to the Amarpur referral hospital for treatment.

The chronology of events was verified by Rajesh Manjhi, the father of one of the victims.

Laddu Kumar (12), Sapna Kumari(5), Gopal Kumar (12), Rabina Kumari(6), Gangiya Kumari(13), and Urmila Devi are the individuals who have been recognized as sick.

They were sent to Jawahar Lal Nehru Medical College and Hospital in Bhagalpur as their health did not get better.

It was verified by Apurv Aman Singh, the pediatrician at the referral hospital, that each youngster exhibited signs of food poisoning.

Food sickness could have resulted from the kids eating stale food at the fair. Although they were given first aid, their symptoms were so severe that they had to be transferred to a more sophisticated institution in order to get better care. They were in a serious condition,” Singh said.

There have been other cases of food poisoning in Bihar.

There have been two additional cases of food poisoning in Bihar in the last twelve days.

On September 28, eleven kids were sick at an Anganwadi center in Mahuli village, Nawada district, Bihar, after eating food that was tainted.

The event happened at the center during the children’s noon meal, while “khichri,” a rice and lentil dish, was being made.

On September 27, a lizard was discovered in a meal provided by the hostel in Bettiah, West Champaran, resulting in another incident involving around 70 students.
