In multiple interviews, Shah Rukh Khan stated that the Panchshila Club in Delhi was the location of their first date with Gauri. Even though Shah Rukh was first apprehensive about meeting someone new, their talk lasted longer than expected and had a lasting impact on him.

 Gauri's parents disapproved of their daughter's interfaith love, even though their own relationship was going well.

Gauri Khan finally decided to take a break because she was so tired of everything at that point. She didn't tell him when she and her pals decided to go to Mumbai the following day because of the whole decision to take a break. 

SRK became so enraged by this that he realized he loved her and how. Unaware of Gauri's whereabouts in Mumbai, SRK searched for her and discovered she was at a beach.

After much discussion and a lot of convincing, more than a year later, the couple decided to get married.
