Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar-led Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) on Tuesday said the victory of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Haryana and good performance in Jammu and Kashmir shows the excellent performance of the Narendra Modi government. Also, NCP Working President Praful Patel formally announced the nomination of Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar from his stronghold Baramati for the upcoming assembly elections.

After this announcement, speculations about Ajit Pawar contesting elections from any other constituency came to an end. Regarding seat sharing talks in Mahayuti for the upcoming elections, Praful Patel said that NCP will get a respectable 60 seats to contest the elections.

Consensus reached on 230 seats

He said that the Mahayuti allies have reached a consensus on 230 seats and differences on the remaining seats will be resolved. NCP, Shiv Sena and BJP are included in the grand alliance. Patel said that the results of Haryana elections will force the leaders of Maharashtra to reconsider their political steps. BJP's hat-trick in Haryana and good performance in Jammu and Kashmir reflects the performance of the Modi government in the last 10 years.

The opposition fabricated a false story

He alleged that the opposition parties created a false narrative through the media that the BJP would lose the Haryana elections on several issues including farmers' protests, unrest among certain castes and sportspersons. Taking a dig at Rahul Gandhi, Patel said that Mahayuti is excited with the results of Haryana and Jammu and Kashmir. Fake news was spread in the Lok Sabha elections, but today's results show who has got the jalebi.

Time will tell who will eat the peda?

Prafull Patel said that even in Maharashtra some people are already eating pedas, but time will tell who will eat pedas. He said that everyone saw who ate the real Jalebi. Regarding seat sharing, he said that it will be announced around Dussehra. Patel said that there is no problem at places 230 to 235. On the results of Jammu and Kashmir, he said that there is a need to look at the state from a different perspective. Kashmir has traditionally been the stronghold of the Abdullah family. PDP has also been winning sometimes but if we talk about Jammu, BJP has performed well here.
