Clouds of crisis loom over Indian team before Australia tour, captain Rohit Sharma may be out

Sports Desk, Obnews: India's tour to Australia is going to start from next month. Even before the start of the tour, clouds of trouble have started looming over the Indian team. Indian team captain Rohit Sharma has sought leave from BCCI for the first two tests against Australia. Will not be seen in the Perth Test starting from 22nd November.

Indian captain Rohit Sharma has sought leave from the first two Tests citing personal reasons. He has informed BCCI about this. There is a possibility that Rohit will not be able to play in the first Test or the second match to be held in Adelaide (6 to 10 December).

Rohit Sharma may be out of the first two test matches

A BCCI source said on condition of anonymity, “There is no complete clarity about the situation. It is learned that Rohit has informed the BCCI that there may be a possibility that he may have to miss one of the two Tests in the beginning of the five-match series in Australia tour due to a personal matter.

He further said that if his personal matter is resolved before the start of the series then he can play all the matches. This situation will become completely clear in the coming days. Team India has to play a five-match series on this tour. The last time a five-match Test series was played between the two countries was in 1991–92. After this, only 4-match series was being played on the Australia tour. But this time a series of five test matches has been organised.

14 to 18 December – Gabba, Brisbane (Day Test)
26 to 30 December – MCG, Melbourne (Day Test)
3 to 7 January – 5th SCG, Sydney (Day Test)
