CM Yogi was also very serious about these problems. He had given instructions to fill the vacant posts of Kanungo through promotion as soon as possible. On the instructions of CM Yogi, this process was implemented and 728 Chakbandi Lekhpals were promoted and made Kanungo.
Consolidation Commissioner Bhanu Chandra Goswami said that since 2016, many posts of Kanungo were lying vacant in various districts of the state, due to which obstacles were being created in the land reconsolidation and consolidation process. There were delays in resolving land related disputes and land reform efforts were also being hampered. Keeping all these things in mind, accountants have now been given new responsibilities by promotion.
60 Chakbandi Lekhpals of Bareilly district have been made Kanungo, which is the highest number in the state. After this, 41 Chakbandi Lekhpals in Kannauj, 35 in Moradabad, 32 in Gorakhpur and 25 in Lalitpur have got the benefit of promotion.
