Salman Khan, popularly known as ‘Bhai’ of Bollywood, has delivered several hits over the years. The actor has worked with numerous actresses in the industry, and his chemistry with most of them has been loved by the audience. However, not many people know that there is one actress with whom his on-screen chemistry didn’t quite connect, and that actress is none other than Rani Mukerji.
Rani Mukerji made her Bollywood debut with the film Raja Ki Aayegi Baraat, which gained popularity among audiences. However, Rani’s first hit film was Ghulam, in which she starred opposite Aamir Khan. Released in 1998, the movie was a big success at the box office. Rani also had many hit films with Shah Rukh Khan, but surprisingly, none of her films with Salman Khan were successful.
A few years ago, Rani Mukerji appeared on Salman Khan’s popular show Dus Ka Dum, during which the actor acknowledged that none of the films they worked on together performed well at the box office. As the show progressed, Salman asked, “Rani ji, how many films have we done together?” Rani replied, “We’ve done around 4 films together.”
Following this, Salman and Rani began listing the films they worked on together, including Hello Brother, Kahin Pyaar Na Ho Jaaye, Har Dil Jo Pyaar Karega, Chori Chori Chupke Chupke, Baabul, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, and Saawariya. Salman then remarked that all their films were flops.
The only film in which Rani and Salman appeared together and that became a hit was Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, where Salman had a cameo role. The first time Rani and Salman shared screen space was in Hello Brother. Released in 1999, the film was directed by Salman’s brother Sohail Khan. Arbaaz Khan also starred in the comedy, but it failed to impress the audience and bombed at the box office. Their other films together also didn’t do well commercially.
