Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana is taking crores of beneficiaries of the country. The objective of this scheme is to empower women. After the start of the scheme, women in rural areas have stopped cooking on stoves and started using LPG gas. This coming Diwali festival, the Uttar Pradesh government has announced to provide free LPG cylinder refills to 1.75 crore eligible households in the state. This initiative has been launched under Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana. It aims to provide clean fuel for cooking to all households in the state.
LPG gas cylinders will be available for free
The beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana were supposed to get two free gas cylinders till 2024. One they got a few days ago during Holi. Again during the upcoming Diwali, they will get the second cylinder for free. After about two and a half months, residents of Uttar Pradesh will get this LPG gas cylinder for free. Besides, free cylinders will be given in Jharkhand before Diwali. However, gas is being given free in Meghalaya this Puja season. However, for this, they need to do e-KYC. Beneficiaries must link their bank account with an Aadhaar card and the Aadhaar number should be biometric from the gas agency.

Benefits of PM Ujjwala Yojana
PM Ujjwala Yojana has been started since 2016. Those who are included in it can now buy gas cylinders at a much lower price. The price of the ordinary cylinder is now running at 940 rupees. But the government is also giving subsidies on these gas cylinders. The government has been subsidizing gas cylinders for an additional 100 taka a few days ago. On the other hand, the government was already subsidizing gas cylinders by 200 takas. In some cases, a subsidy of 300 taka per gas cylinder is currently available. If you get a subsidy of Rs 300 on a gas cylinder of Rs 940, then you have to spend Rs 640 to buy a gas cylinder. 9.5 crore people will be benefited under this Ujjwala Yojana scheme.
