Mirzapur: Most of the sugarcane cultivation in Uttar Pradesh is done in the western districts. Most of the farmers cultivate sugarcane and supply it to the sugar mill. However, farmers are getting rich by cultivating sugarcane not in the west but in the Mirzapur district of Purvanchal.

Due to less cultivation, there is also a demand for sugarcane. Farmers sell sugarcane for juice. At the same time, they prepare molasses and jaggery from the remaining sugarcane and sell it. The crop is ready with less hard work. Farmers earn a profit of about one and a half lakh rupees in one bigha.

Rajhans is cultivating sugarcane in four bighas.
Rajhans Bahelia, a resident of Siyur village of Mirzapur, has been cultivating sugarcane for the last 20 years. This time Rajhans Bahelia is cultivating four bighas. From medicine to labour, about 20 20,000 rupees are spent in cultivating one bigha of sugarcane. At the same time, the crop is ready in one year. A profit of about one and a half lakh rupees is being made in one bigha. Rajhans Bahelia told Local 18 that sugarcane farming requires the least effort. After sowing, the crops have to be taken care of. Even with less irrigation, there is better yield and the demand in the market is also high.

Jaggery and that are also prepared.
Farmer Rajhans Bahelia told Local 18 that after the sugarcane is ready, many people buy it for juice. Jaggery and khad are prepared by extracting juice from the remaining sugarcane. Due to the high demand for pure jaggery and khad, they get a high price. Fuel is used once to extract the juice. After that, jaggery and khad are prepared from the remains of sugarcane. If farmers want to cultivate sugarcane, then this is a very beneficial farming for them. It saves time along with low cost.
