A newly married woman committed suicide by hanging herself in Sadar Auraiya Kotwali of Auraiya district of Uttar Pradesh. On receiving the information, people from the maternal side reached the spot and accused the in-laws of torturing and murdering them. On the other hand, the constable husband on duty also committed suicide. As soon as information about the incident was received, everyone was stunned. What happened after all that both of them ended their lives? On receiving information about the incident, the police took possession of the dead bodies and sent them for post-mortem.
Santoshi Devi, living in Banarasi Das Mohalla of Auraiya district of UP, committed suicide by hanging herself. Seeing the daughter-in-law hanging, her in-laws immediately admitted her to the district hospital, where the doctors declared her dead. On receiving information about the suicide of the deceased, people from her maternal side reached the spot and accused her in-laws of murder. On receiving information about his wife's suicide, her husband Upendra Kumar, a constable on duty, also committed suicide. The deceased constable was posted in Unchahar, Rae Bareli. Constable Upendra, resident of Auraiya, was selected in the 2021 batch.
The deceased's father Subodh Singh had reached the government hospital in Auraiya, where he told that this is his daughter. The family members said that we fulfilled all the demands made by these people for their daughter's marriage. Our daughter was very nice and very polite. My daughter's name is Santoshi and I got my daughter married in Banarasi Das Mohalla. No one from the in-laws' side was found in the hospital and they killed him here and left him.
We were informed by the girl's father-in-law. Both of them got married in November 2023. They used to torture our daughter and wanted to keep her imprisoned in various ways. They said don't do this and don't go here. Before this we had explained to the entire house twice. He is our child and treat him like a child, if he has any problem then tell him.
Sadar Area Officer Mahendra Pratap Singh told about the incident that a woman who was married a year ago in Banarasi Das Mohalla under Auraiya Kotwali. Due to unknown reasons, he committed suicide by hanging himself in his house. He was brought to the District Joint Hospital for treatment, where the doctors declared him dead. In this regard, information has been given to the parents. Further action will be taken once the complaint is registered. The body has been sent for post-mortem.
