Today’s weather in Ahmedabad: In the late afternoon on Saturday, October 19, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning for thunderstorms with additional rain in Ahmedabad. After many days of dry weather, the city had a new bout of rain on Saturday, with light to moderate showers falling in numerous parts. According to IMD, there will be clear skies and bright weather for the rest of the week, so the rain should stop by Sunday morning or Saturday night. In the meantime, a yellow alert has been issued for a number of districts in Gujarat, including Narmada, Surat, Tapi, Navsari, Dangs, Valsad, Daman, Dadar Nagar Haveli, and the districts of Amreli and Bhavnagar in Saurashtra, warning of very likely heavy rain in isolated places.
In all of the districts of South Gujarat, including Vadodara, Chhotaudepur, Narmada, Bharuch, Surat, Dangs, Navsari, Valsad, Tapi, and Daman, Dadra Nagar Haveli; in the districts of Saurashtra-Kutch, including Rajkot, Jamnagar, Porbandar, Junagadh, Amreli, Bhavnagar, Dwarka, Gir Somnath, and in Diu, the weatherman has forecast light to moderate rain and thundershowers at a few locations.
On October 20, rain is predicted in a few isolated areas in the districts of Panchmahal and Dahod in the North Gujarat region. Rain is unlikely to be a hindrance throughout the holiday season as people are anticipated to visit the marketplaces to buy for Diwali.
On the social networking site X, users posted pictures of the recent rain, with many expressing gratitude for the respite from the October heat. The city’s lowest temperature was 26 degrees Celsius, while the highest temperature is predicted to reach 35 degrees Celsius.
