Thane (Maharashtra) [India], October 22 (ANI): A 21-year-old biker died after being hit by a speeding car here on Monday, police said. According to the Thane police, a speeding car hit a 21-year-old bike rider in Thane. After the incident, the accused car driver fled from the spot. Naupada police have started a search operation to nab the driver, the accident took place at Nitin Junction in Thane. The deceased was identified as 21-year-old Darshan Shashidhar Hegde. Police said, a case has been registered at Naupada Police Station against an unknown person u/s 106 (2), 281 and 125 (B) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and relevant sections of the Motor Vehicles Act. The police are currently examining the CCTV footage installed in the area and have started an investigation to identify and nab the accused driver.Further details are awaited. (ANI)
