In the current era, T20 cricket has created a lot of buzz. Wherever you look, there are T20 series and T20 league matches. One-day cricket is lagging in this T20 cricket race. But now to make one-day cricket exciting and to infuse new life into it, the ICC Cricket Committee has planned a revolutionary change. The ICC Cricket Committee meeting held in Dubai has recommended a rule change in ODI cricket which will bring a big change in this format. Sourav Ganguly, Mahela Jayawardene, VVS Laxman, Shaun Pollock, Daniel Vettori, Roger Harper, and Jai Shah were present in this ICC Cricket Committee and these veterans have proposed to keep 2 new balls in ODIs for only 25 overs.

The ICC committee advised that two new balls should be used in ODIs only for the first 25 overs. After that, only one ball should be used. Currently, two new balls are used from both ends till 50 overs. It is being said that the use of two balls in ODIs has caused a lot of harm to the bowlers. Due to having two new balls till 50 overs, it is easy for the batsmen to play big shots. The ICC committee has sent this recommendation to all the captains. It will be implemented only after the consent of the captains. If the rule of using two balls till 25 overs comes, then bowlers will also come into the game in ODIs. They will get reverse swing and at the same time, leg spinners will also contribute a lot to the game.

The ICC Cricket Committee has recommended that the next World Test Championship cycle should now have a series of 3 Test matches. South Africa, New Zealand, and Sri Lanka mostly play two-match Test series. Only India, England, and Australia play big Test series. Test cricket will not get a boost from these things. The ICC Committee also talked about promoting day-night Tests. Pink ball tests are played continuously only in Australia, BCCI has not organized a Pink ball test for the last two years. The ICC believes that more people will come to the stadium due to Pink ball tests. More spectators came to the Pink Tests organized in India.
