Sarfaraz Khan performed brilliantly in the Bengaluru Test. He scored 150 runs in the second innings. During this, he hit many tremendous shots, in which the upper cut made by bending at the waist went viral. Now India's legendary cricketer Sunil Gavaskar has given a shocking statement about his waist. Gavaskar has said in a column written in Sportstar that Sarfaraz's performance with the bat in Bengaluru was even better than his waist. The Indian legend said this not to make fun of him but in praise. Actually, Sarfaraz looks a little fat compared to other Indian players. That is why questions have been raised about his fitness. Gavaskar has taken a dig at this.

Gavaskar reprimanded BCCI

Sunil Gavaskar has talked about fitness in his column on Sportstar. He also alleged that Mumbai batsman Sarfaraz Khan scored a lot of runs in domestic cricket. Despite this, he was ignored. He believes that the team management preferred players with thin waists in international cricket.

Gavaskar said that Sarfaraz Khan's waist was not up to the management's standards, so he was ignored. He said in the column that 'Sarfaraz performed better with the bat than his waist in Bangalore. Sadly, there are many decision-makers in Indian cricket whose thoughts are difficult to understand.'

To support Sarfaraz, Gavaskar gave the example of Team India's wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant. According to him, Pant also does not have a thin waist. Despite this, he has performed brilliantly in Test cricket. Let us tell you that both the batsmen had a partnership of 177 runs in Bengaluru. Gavaskar praised Pant and said that apart from batting, he also does wicketkeeping throughout the day, in which he has to get up and sit down repeatedly for about 6 hours.

Demand to end Yo-Yo test

Sunil Gavaskar asked BCCI to abolish the Yo-Yo test. Let us tell you that the fitness of Team India's players is measured through this test. He said that the Yo-Yo test should be removed and the mental fitness of the players should be assessed. According to him, this is the right indicator of a player's fitness. Gavaskar said that 'if a player can bowl 20 overs in a day or bat all day, then he is fit for the match. It does not matter how thin his waist is.'
