UP’s Advanced Pediatric Center is taking shape: Yogi

UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said on Tuesday that the state’s long-awaited Advanced Paediatric Center is now taking shape, thanks to the work of the state’s “double-engine government.” He talked about how he had close, personal experience with the health problems kids in the state were facing. He also said that when he was an MP, he brought up these problems both in Parliament and through protests.

He spoke at the event for the opening and laying of foundation stones for several SGPGI projects and said, “Under the leadership of PM Modi, the state is making continuous progress in healthcare.” There were only 18 medical schools in this country before 2017. Now there are 64 ones in this country. One District, One College is becoming a reality very quickly in the state.He said that in the last few years, the number of MBBS and PG places has more than doubled. He also talked about how well the problem of Japanese encephalitis was solved, saying that this was a big deal since the disease mostly affected children. He had already checked out the Saloni Heart Center, the Advanced Diabetes Center, and the Tele ICU.

The Advanced Paediatric Center will have 575 beds and 22 departments that will treat hormonal problems, diabetes, children in the intensive care unit, genetic emergencies in children, pediatric neurology, and more. All of these services will be available under one roof. He said that the Saloni Heart Center’s first phase had begun and that an MoU for the second phase had been signed. With its state-of-the-art equipment, this school hopes to perform major heart surgeries on 5,000 kids every year and give another 10,000 kids second views every year.

Yogi also announced that work would begin on a 1,000-bed night shelter, which will be paid for by ONGC’s CSR effort and greatly assist people who are attending the hospital. The shelter will also have a place to park and a kitchen where food will be served for just Rs 15 to Rs 20. Another part of the College of Medical Technology that is finished is the dorm for 200 students.
