Congress has announced its candidates for the by-elections on four assembly seats in Punjab. In this, Kuldeep Singh Dhillon from Barnala, Amrita Vading from Giddarbaha, Ranjit Kumar from Chabbewal and Jatinder Kaur from Dera Baba Nanak have been declared candidates.
Congress has given ticket to Amrita Vading, wife of party state president and Ludhiana MP Amarinder Singh Raja Vading, from Giddarbaha seat. This seat is vacant after Raja Vading was elected as Lok Sabha member. Now the party has made his wife its candidate from here.
Jatinder Kaur, wife of Gurdaspur Congress MP Sukhwinder Singh Randhawa, has been made the candidate from Dera Baba Nanak assembly seat of Gurdaspur. Dera Baba Nanak seat has become vacant after Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa became MP.
Congress also announced six candidates for the assembly by-elections to be held in Punjab as well as West Bengal. Congress has fielded Harihar Roy Sinha from Sitai assembly seat of West Bengal, Vikas Meri from Madarihat, Paresh Sarkar from Naihati, Habib Raza Choudhary from Harora, Shyamal Kumar Ghosh from Medinipur and Tusharkanti Sannigrahi from Taldangra. Voting on all these 10 seats is to be held on November 13. Counting of votes will take place on 23 November.
