In the month of July, private telecom companies had increased their tariffs. Since then, the country's government telecom company BSNL bounced back again. Since then, there is a continuous increase in the customers of BSNL. Now even the government has started accepting that BSNL is also going to write the story of change. BSNL has made it clear that it is not going to increase its tariff in the coming months. On the other hand, BSNL will shift to 5G in the next one year. On the other hand, the story of this change of BSNL is creating a stir in the telecom industry. Jio, Airtel and Vodafone Idea are struggling. Let us also tell you what the Telecom Minister has said about the story of change?

Customers are increasing

Communication Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia has said that public sector telecom company BSNL is writing a story of change after registering operational profit in the last two years. The company has added customers every month in the last quarter and the number of its customers has increased by 50-60 lakhs. In his address at Express Adda, he said that BSNL (Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited) is providing telephone services in remote villages and its service is improving by making the network advanced.

Revival package of Rs 89 thousand crore

In June last year, the Union Cabinet had approved a revival package of Rs 89,047 crore for loss-making BSNL to deploy 4G and 5G services. Debt-ridden BSNL is struggling with poor infra and was incurring losses for the last 12 years. He said that in terms of financial position, it is true that BSNL was incurring losses. But in the last two years, our earnings before tax (EBITDA) have been positive.

That means we are not in loss in terms of EBITDA. However, the minister did not say when the company would become profitable. He said that even today, in terms of telecom service, it is only BSNL which is providing service to the last villages of our country. Scindia said that I believe that BSNL has a lot of potential… it just needs to be given momentum.
