Ingredients required to make the decoction:

  • Ginger: Ginger has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties which help in strengthening immunity.
  • basil: Tulsi has anti-bacterial and anti-viral properties which prevent cold and cough.
  • black pepper: Black pepper contains piperine which increases immunity.
  • cinnamon: Cinnamon contains antioxidants which keep the body warm.

Method of making decoction:

  1. Take water in a pan.
  2. Add ginger pieces, basil leaves, black pepper, cinnamon and cloves to it.
  3. Boil it until the water remains half.
  4. Turn off the gas and let it cool for some time.
  5. Mix honey in it and drink it hot.

Other ingredients you can add to the decoction:

  • Liquorice: Liquorice is beneficial in sore throat and cough.
  • Gooseberry: Amla is rich in Vitamin C which boosts immunity.
  • Turmeric: Turmeric has anti-inflammatory properties that prevent cold and cough.
