In the ICC T20 World Cup Sub-Regional Africa qualifications, Zimbabwe broke records by defeating Gambia by 290 runs. Zimbabwe bowled out Gambia for only 54 after setting a new record of 344-4 in 20 overs. In terms of runs, this was the largest victory in a Twenty20 match. Sikandar Raza, the captain of Zimbabwe, was the star of this historic win with a spectacular 133-run innings in 43 balls.

Raza struck 15 sixes in the inning while in outstanding six-hitting form.
Sikandar Raza broke a huge Virat Kohli record thanks to the knock. Raza became the first player in history to collect 17 Player of the Match accolades in Twenty20 Internationals after his spectacular knock earned him the title of Man of the Match. The great Virat Kohli of India, who earned 16 Player of the Match accolades previously held the record.

Even though Sikandar Raza is one of the most reliable players in the world of cricket, his contributions to Zimbabwean cricket are well documented despite the fact that his exploits are sometimes overlooked. Raza has scored 4154 runs in 142 one-day internationals and 2209 runs in 95 Twenty20 internationals.

He recorded one hundred and fourteen fifties in T20Is and seven hundred and twenty-one fifties in the 50-over format. Because Zimbabwe doesn’t play many Test matches, Raza’s Test statistics aren’t very impressive. In his 17 Test matches, he amassed 1187 runs, including one hundred and eight fifties. Raza grabbed 195 wickets in all formats and is as adept with the ball.

With the victory against Gambia, Zimbabwe’s winning streak in the competition was maintained. With four victories in a row, the squad is atop the standings. On Thursday, they will play their last match against Kenya.
