On Friday, the top court will hear the NEET PG 2024 result disclosure plea. At the same time, candidates are waiting for the counseling schedule and are angry about changes made at the last minute to the test design and other problems.

The NEET PG counseling schedule has not been released yet because of an ongoing case in the highest court. Candidates have been left hanging and are eagerly awaiting the times for the important counseling meetings.

After the Supreme Court makes its ruling, the Medical Counselling Committee will set the NEET PG Counselling Schedule 2024.

In related news, on October 21, the Supreme Court gave the High-Level Committee of Experts, which was set up by the Center in response to the debate over the NEET-UG test, two extra weeks to turn in its report.

A bench led by CJI Chandrachud and made up of Justices JB Pardiwala and Manoj Misra agreed to the request for more time after Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, who is the second-highest law officer in the Centre, said that the expert panel’s report is almost ready but needs a little more time to be turned in.

On June 26, the Union Ministry of Education set up a High-Level Committee of Experts with seven members. The committee is led by Dr. K. Radhakrishnan, who used to be Chairman of ISRO and Chairman of the Board of Governors at IIT Kanpur. Its job is to suggest ways for the National Testing Agency (NTA) to run exams that are clear, fair, and easy to understand.

The Supreme Court asked the Center to explain what steps were taken to make sure the NEET would be fair in the future. This is how the High-Level Committee of Experts was created.

The Supreme Court did not order a re-test. Instead, in its detailed ruling on August 2, it told the expert panel to come up with a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) that explains how to register, change exam centers, seal OMR sheets, and do other things that are needed to run exams.

“By September 30, the study group’s report must be sent to the Union Ministry of Education.” Within one month of getting the report, the Ministry of Education was supposed to decide what to do about the committee’s suggestions.
