Rani Rampal Announces Retirement Hockey: Former captain of the Indian women's hockey team Rani Rampal has announced her retirement. She served Indian hockey for 16 years and registered her name among the great players of women's hockey. Rani played a total of 254 matches for India, in which she scored 120 goals. Let us tell you that under her captaincy in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, the Indian women's hockey team made it to the semi-finals.

According to PTI, Rani Rampal said on her retirement, "It has been a wonderful journey. I never thought that I would be able to play for India for such a long time. I have seen a lot of poverty since childhood, but the focus was always on doing something big. I always wanted to represent the country."

Made his debut at the age of just 14

Rani Rampal is only 29 years old and she made her debut for India in 2008 at the age of just 14. She hails from the Shahbad Markanda area of ​​​​Haryana and her father used to pull a cart loaded with goods. Her journey from poverty to becoming the captain of the Indian women's hockey team has been inspiring. Rani was last seen playing for Team India in early 2023. The coach at that time, Janneke Schopman, dropped Rani from the team, for which she was not even given any reason.

After being dropped from the Indian team, Rani has started focusing on coaching. She was the coach of the sub-junior women's national team last year. She is currently working as a coach in the Hockey India League, where she is a member of the coaching staff of Surma Hockey Club.
