Recipe: Leftover rice tends to rot when stored, so it would be better to make snacks. Instead of preparing dosa, kheer or pakoras, prepare Maharashtra's famous muthia. Its taste is such that you would like to eat it again and again. So let us know in detail how you can prepare muthiya from leftover rice.
Material

Leftover cooked rice – 1 cup

Gram flour (gram flour) – half cup

Semolina (Rava) – 2 tbsp

Wheat flour- 1 cup

Green chilli – 2 finely chopped

Ginger – 1 inch piece

Cumin – half teaspoon

Fresh coriander- 2 tbsp

Sesame seeds – 1 tablespoon

Baking soda- 1 pinch

Turmeric powder- 1/4 tsp

Red chilli powder – half teaspoon

Coriander powder- half teaspoon

Salt- as per taste

Oil- 2 tbsp (for tempering)

Lemon juice- 1 tablespoon

Method

Step 1 :

First of all, prepare and keep the ingredients mentioned above. Then add cooked rice in a large vessel.

Step 2 :

Knead the dough by adding water little by little. The dough should be soft and slightly sticky.

Step 3 :

Now preheat a steamer. Apply oil on the steamer plate, place the muthia and steam it for 15-20 minutes. Then insert a knife and check.

Step 4 :

If the knife comes out clean, the muthiyas are cooked. Take them out and let them cool.

Step 5 :

Heat oil in a pan. Add cumin and sesame seeds and temper it. Now add pieces of one muthiya and fry till it becomes light golden.

Step 6 :

Your leftover rice muthiya is ready, serve it with coriander chutney or tomato chutney.
