Renowned Pakistani musician Ustad Tafo Khan passes away

Lahore: Following a protracted illness, renowned Pakistani musician Ustad Tafo Khan passed away at the age of 78.

Details indicate that Ustad Tafo Khan died at a private hospital after receiving treatment for kidney ailment that had been plaguing him for some months.

Ustad Tafo Khan, who was born in 1946 into a musical household, was exposed to the tabla at an early age. Mehdi Hassan, Noor Jahan, Ghulam Ali, Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, and Shazia Manzoor were among the many renowned performers he shared the stage with. His song “Sunway Balori Akh Walyaan” in Punjabi gained a lot of popularity.

Additionally, Ustad Tafo Khan was instrumental in exposing singers like Naseebo Lal. In the music business, his work was unmatched.

Sajjad and Ghulam Ali , Tafo are his close relatives, and the late Tarik Tafo was his son. Ustad Tafo Khan, known as the “King of Rhythm,” was one of the great musicians of the Indian subcontinent.

His funeral prayers will be held on October 27, Sunday, after the Zuhr prayer at the funeral hall in Block Karim, Allama Iqbal Town, Lahore, and he will be buried in Shahenshah Cemetery.
