‘What’s His Gameplan?’ Virat Kohli’s ‘Go Back To Domestic Cricket’ suggestion during his disastrous Test run

In the first two Test matches against New Zealand, Virat Kohli had a bad performance. Aside from scoring 70 runs in the first Test’s second inning, Kohli didn’t contribute anything to the team. In the Test format, the star batsman for India has been having trouble scoring runs. After being the backbone of Indian batting for almost ten years and contributing significantly to several Indian victories, Kohli hasn’t been the same performer during the last four years, scoring only two hundreds, the most recent of which came in July 2023 against the West Indies.

The former cricket player believes that Kohli’s troubles against spinners have been a recurrent trend and that the batter has to find a solution. Kohli has been found lacking against the spinners on Indian wickets.

“Virat Kohli has not had an easy time; the series has not been kind to him, and he has let us down in three of the last four innings. I believe he will go and find out what he has to do to come out stronger since he has clearly been tormented by spinners on a regular basis. He is a guy who is looking for clarification. You will face obstacles after you achieve that degree of brilliance and superstardom, and this is only one more. What is his strategy? India likes to play on wickets that help with spin. Dinesh Karthik said this to Cricbuzz.

Karthik suggested that Virat Kohli return to domestic cricket and work on his shortcomings, claiming that he hasn’t performed the game-winning innings that he used to play so often.

“This series was not intended to be; we all know what he is capable of. He hasn’t done it in a while, and we can’t avoid it, as the supporters have been saying. Virat Kohli’s Test record over the last two to three years hasn’t been terrific against spin, so we don’t want to sugarcoat that because we want to be as objective as possible when evaluating any player or performance,” Karthik added.

“We should probably return to domestic cricket and concentrate on what has to be done with the DRS’s present regulations. “The left-arm spinners are definitely a serious threat,” he said.
