Why is a PAN card necessary for a child?
There are many benefits of having a PAN card with a child. According to the Income Tax Department, any minor can get a PAN card. There is no rule for this. However, when the child turns 18 years old, it is necessary to get it updated. Minor PAN Card does not have signature and photo. Which is necessary to update later.

Benefits of Minor PAN Card
Investment: If you want your child to invest, then a PAN card will be required. If you want to make your child a nominee in your investment, then its importance increases in that too.

Bank Account: A PAN card is required to open an account in a bank.

Earning: If the child has any source of income, then a PAN card will be required too.

Process of applying online
First of all search NSDL on Google and tap on the first link “Online PAN application”.

After the PAN application opens, select the “New PAN- Indian Citizen (Form 49A)” type, then select 'Individual' in the category.

Fill in the details like full name, DOB, mobile number, and email ID in the applicant information below.

Now fill in the captcha and submit it.

A token number will appear in front of you. Note it down and click on “Continue with PAN Application Form”.

Now select “Forward application documents physically” on number 3.

Enter the last 4 digits of the Aadhaar card and name and check the information already filled. Many new details will also have to be filled here.

After this click next. Here it will be your turn to submit parent details, income details, and documents.

Once all these steps are completed, the option to submit will come at the end. A fee of Rs 107 is charged for this.
