New Delhi: Diwali is not just a festival it is an emotion for people celebrating it. Every year on Diwali people come together to celebrate this grand occasion which marks the homecoming of Lord Rama with Sita and Laxman after winning the battle with Ravana. It is a day to light diyas and celebrate with music, puja, lights, sweets and more to mark the victory of good over evil.

The Festival of Lights usually falls in October or November. This year it will celebrated on October 31, 2024, across the globe. Each day of Diwali has its significance. The festival begins with Dhanteras, dedicated to wealth and health. The second day, known as Naraka Chaturdashi or Choti Diwali, symbolizes the victory of Lord Krishna over the demon Narakasura. The main day, Diwali is celebrated by lighting diyas and candles, decorating homes, and offering prayers to Goddess Lakshmi for prosperity and happiness.

People in the digital age now celebrate the festival by sending each other gifts, warm wishes, status, videos, messages, images and more to greet and wish each other all the good luck and happiness.
