Bhai Dooj date and time
According to the Vedic calendar, every year the festival of Bhai Dooj is celebrated on the second day of Shukla Paksha of Kartik month, which is falling on Sunday, November 3 this year. The date of Bhai Dooj will start at 8:21 pm on 2nd November and will end at 10:05 pm on 3rd November. In such a situation, according to Oriya date, the festival of Bhai Dooj will be celebrated on 3rd November only. The auspicious time for applying Tilak to brothers is from 1:10 pm to 3:22 pm on 3rd November.
Ingredients for Bhai Dooj as per Vaastu
On the day of Bhai Dooj, the puja thali must contain things like Roli, flowers, Akshat, betel nut, betel leaf, silver coin, coconut, flower garland, sweets, Kalava, Durva and banana etc. Without these things, do not apply tilak to your brothers on Bhai Dooj.
How to do Tilak on Bhai Dooj
- First of all, sisters should prepare the Tilak thali in the morning on the day of Bhai Dooj.
- Keep fruits, flowers, kumkum, sweets, rice and sandalwood in the plate.
- After this, make the brother sit on a stool or platform. Place a red handkerchief on his head.
- Now apply kumkum or sandalwood tilak on your brother's forehead with your ring finger. Then sprinkle rice over the tilak.
- Then feed sweets to your brother with your own hands. Dry coconut is also given to the brother on this day. Now perform Aarti for brother and wish him success and long life.
