She rose to fame after her performance in the 1971 film Hare Rama Hare Krishna for which she won the Filmfare Best Supporting Actress Award. The actress revealed in a post that Dev Anand had suspected an affair between her and Raj Kapoor. In his autobiography Romancing with Life he disclosed his feelings about her. Reading this broke the actresss heart and she expressed her anger and humiliation in her post stating I felt very insulted; his actions made me feel deeply ashamed. During that era Zeenat was considered one of the top actresses in the industry. She delivered several hits and was even known to surpass actress Mumtazs fame. At the time when Aman entered the industry Mumtaz was regarded as the highest-paid actress. However after Zeenats arrival Mumtazs fame gradually diminished.
