For the first time in Maharashtra's Dangal, there are about a dozen Chief Minister candidates from 6 big parties. Among these, maximum number of candidates for CM post are in Congress. There are currently at least 4 such faces in the Old Grand Party who are contenders for the post of Chief Minister. There are two such faces in Sharad Pawar's party NCP and two in Bharatiya Janata Party, who are discussed to become Chief Minister in future.

Apart from these 8 faces, there are 3 faces who have openly expressed their desire to become the Chief Minister. Those 3 names are- Eknath Shinde, Uddhav Thackeray and Ajit Pawar. In this story, let us know about all these contenders for the post of Chief Minister in Maharashtra.

Let's start with Eknath Shinde

Current Chief Minister Eknath Shinde is again a contender for the post of CM. His party Shivsena (Shinde) is contesting elections on about 80 seats in Maharashtra. When Shinde rebelled in 2022, he had only 40 MLAs, but BJP handed over the CM's chair to him. It is being said that if a similar equation is formed this time too, then Shinde can get the post of CM.

Ajit Pawar has expressed his wish

Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar in the Eknath Shinde government has expressed his desire to become the Chief Minister on several public platforms. Ajit Pawar had recently said that I am not able to move ahead from Deputy. It is said that Ajit had rebelled against Sharad Pawar only for the post of CM.

Uddhav Thackeray is continuously demanding

Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray is also in the race for Chief Minister. Uddhav's party has repeatedly demanded the parties of the India alliance to declare him as the CM face. In 2019, when Mahavikas Aghadi government was formed with the support of Sharad Pawar and Congress, Uddhav was made the CM.

There are currently 2 contenders for the post of CM in BJP

Bharatiya Janata Party is currently the largest party in the Maharashtra Assembly. Devendra Fadnavis is the Deputy CM from BJP. It is being said that Fadnavis can become CM if the government is formed. Recently, a poster related to Fadnavis in BJP office had made a lot of headlines.

If BJP government comes and no consensus is reached on the name of Fadnavis, then it is being said that Vinod Tawde can also be handed over the post of CM. Former Maharashtra minister Tawde is currently the national general secretary.

2 CM candidates in Sharad's party

Leaving aside Sharad Pawar, there are two main contenders for the post of Chief Minister in NCP (Sharad). Among these, the first name is Supriya Sule and the second name is Jayant Patil. Supriya Sule is the daughter of Sharad Pawar and the working president of NCP (Sharad). Sharad Pawar's nephew Ajit had said in a rally that I could not become CM because I was not the child of any leader.

Jayant Patil's claim has recently been fueled by Sharad Pawar. Pawar said in a rally that I want Jayant to be ready to handle big responsibilities.

Maximum 4 contenders in Congress

There are maximum 4 contenders for the post of Chief Minister in the Old Grand Party Congress. Among these, the names of Nana Patole, Bala Saheb Thorat, Vijay Wadettiwar and Prithviraj Chavan are prominent. Prithviraj Chavan has been the former CM of Maharashtra. Currently contesting legislature.

Maharashtra Congress President Nana Patole is the frontrunner for the post of CM. Patole is the one who is memorizing the most the formula that the party that wins the most seats will be the CM. Patole has been the speaker of Maharashtra Assembly.

Balasaheb Thorat is considered close to the high command. Recently, when the issue of seat sharing was stuck, Congress had put forward Thorat on the instructions of the high command.

OBC face Vijay Wadettiwar is currently the leader of opposition in the assembly. He is also being considered a contender for the post of CM.
