In fact, the Africa Cricket Association (ACA) has started talks with the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) and other stakeholders to restart the once-popular Afro-Asia Cup after almost two decades.
In this tournament, teams from both continents play against each other. The Afro-Asia Cup has been held twice so far. The tournament was held in South Africa in 2005 (drawn) and in India in 2007 (Asia won). The third edition was scheduled to be held in Kenya in 2009 but it never happened. "Apart from cricket, the Afro-Asia Cup brings in much-needed financials for the organization and there is a lot of willpower on both sides," ACA interim president and Zimbabwe Cricket president Tawengwa Mukuhlani was quoted as saying by ESPNcricinfo.
