Stranger Things fans have been given a huge update for season five as the episode titles for the climactic fifth season were released today (Wednesday, November 7).
The nostalgic science fiction drama will officially conclude with its fifth outing next year, set in 1987.
The episode titles are as follows:
The Crawl
The Vanishing Of [Omitted]
The Turnbow Trap
Sorcerer
Shock Jock
Escape From Camazotz
The Bridge
and The Rightside Up
Fans won't help but notice the glaring omission from the second episode, already sowing seeds for a huge mystery coming their way next year.
Could a major character like Mike Wheeler (Finn Wolfhard), Steve Harrington (Joe Keery) or Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) disappear for the rest of the series?
Netflix's announcement was in typical Stranger Things fashion, with the episode titles against the show's iconic red logo and its eerie theme music playing.
The captions continue: "In the fall of 1987... one last adventure begins."
Stranger Things' fanbase was ecstatic after the announcement, with hundreds of them already taking to the comments to share their excitement over what's to come.
"'the vanishing of…' WAS SUCH A MASSIVE TEASE," one YouTube user exclaimed.
Another agreed: "How you tease us with the second title tease very naughty ST can’t wait!!"
"'last adventure' screaming crying, I'm not ready," a third said, adding crying and heartbroken emojis.
An official release date for next year hasn't been confirmed, but given the timeframe of the Hawkins gang's final adventure it could be dropping in September or October.
Stranger Things season 5 will be released in 2025 on Netflix.
