A scooter rider who tried to avoid police scrutiny and was hurt caused a spectacular scene in the Surya Nagar neighborhood of Ghaziabad.
Sahibabad ACP Rajneesh Kumar Upadhyay said that Chouhan was told to halt, but he chose to drive off, sparking a pursuit. Chouhan sadly fell on the Rampuri railway line as his scooter slid.
According to police sources, the wounded victim, Jatin Chouhan, a resident of Sundarnagari, was hurt during retaliatory shooting with the police.
Additionally, according to the police, the accused has been the subject of one and a half dozen Gangster Act proceedings.
“While checking was being done in the Surya Nagar area, a scooter rider started riding very fast when he was signaled to stop,” Sahibabad ACP Rajneesh Kumar Upadhyay told ANI. He opened fire on the police squad to protect himself when his scooter slid and landed on the Rampuri railway line as they began pursuing him. The criminal was shot and injured in reprisal.
The accused was also heavily engaged in gambling, according to the police, and had committed minor offenses including chain snatching and cellphone snatching.
“The individual identified himself as Jatin Chouhan, a resident of Delhi’s Sundarnagari, during questioning. He said that he has a history of gambling and recently spent Rs 1 lakh on a gambling game. He has engaged in minor offenses such as cellphone snatching and chain snatching. Along with him, we discovered some cash and firearms. According to the Gangster Act, he is the subject of one and a half dozen charges,” ACP Upadhyay said.
According to the police official, the accused has been brought to the hospital for further care.
