In the presence of Mizoram’s Sports Minister Lalnghinglova Hmar, the Pro Panja League has announced a massive event that would take place in the hilly city of Aizawl in the second half of 2024 and include a diverse array of armwrestlers from all over India.

Denic Lalruattluanga Vangchhia, a well-known Mizo arm wrestler, will face an international arm wrestler in the main event. Denic recently took the stage after helping India place second behind Kazakhstan in the Asian Armwrestling Cup and win gold.

Denic was also awarded the tournament’s Indian player of the year by the Pro Panja League, and he received congratulations and a Rs 35,000 cash prize.

Lalnghinglova Hmar expressed his happiness at the news that the Pro Panja League Mega Match edition would be held in Mizoram.

It gives me great pleasure to inform you that the Pro Panja League Mega Match Mizoram edition will be held at the Aizawl Winter Festival. According to a press release, Hmar said, “This will inspire a whole generation of Mizo armwrestlers and help showcase our excellent Mizo armwrestlers to the world.”

Parvin Dabas, the creator of the Pro Panja League, expressed gratitude to Lalnghinglova Hmar for his backing and for permitting the league to host an international competition in Mizoram. “It will be one of the biggest and best sporting events Mizoram will see,” Parvin said. We are appreciative of the chance and will do all in our power to ensure the event is a huge success.”

As she expressed her excitement, Preeti Jhangiani, President of the People’s Armwrestling Federation India (PAFI), said, “PAFI is proud to have the Mizoram Armwrestling Association as a part of this event, and we are sure it’s going to be a lot more successful from here.”
