UP News: To control the increasing demand and skyrocketing prices of garlic, the state government has taken a special initiative for the farmers. Now a special scheme has been started to promote garlic cultivation in the state, in which the Government of India is also cooperating. Under this scheme, garlic will be cultivated on 10 thousand hectares of additional land in the entire state, in which farmers will get a subsidy of Rs 12 thousand per hectare. Garlic seeds will be made available from the National Horticulture Research and Development Institute (NHRDE), New Delhi.
What is this scheme?
Minister of State for Horticulture Dinesh Pratap Singh said that under the Masala Area Expansion Program, farmers will be given incentives for garlic cultivation.
