Beauty advent calendars are yet again proving popular for the festive season as many swap chocolates for body scrubs, toners, and face creams and this one is no different. And I’ve found a fully vegan, natural offering perfect for a pamper.
While you would typically go to for supplements or vitamins, it’s actually their beauty advent calendar that I - and many other shoppers - have been loving this season. Their 25-day Beauty Advent Calendar focuses on the wellness and health of your skin, hair and nails, packed with organic, cruelty-free and vegan products.
I was lucky enough to get my hands on this wellness-packed calendar before it sold out, and its natural product list didn’t disappoint. At first glance, a lot of attention to detail has been paid to traditional packaging and there’s even more than one product squeezed into a few of the boxes.

Sticking with the theme of its stores there are even Biotin supplements for hair strength included too (a favourite add-in of mine). And an essential oil-gushing roller ball to help balance the body - the scent of which can be smelt from outside the calendar.
All-in-all, there are 16 full-sized products, which include a Salt of the Earth 100ml spray, Dr Organic Ageless Eye Contour Serum, the Weleda Skin Food Cleansing Balm (a brand I really rate) and Blamonds Super 7 30ml Serum, to name a few.
Since unboxing the calendar two products I have used the most are ones which I’d have never thought to buy for myself…you know the things you don’t realise you need until you have them. That’s the So Eco Scalp Massage Brush and 200ml Sukin Scalp Scrub (another full-sized product).
I've used both products at least three times since unboxing and it's been game changing in lifting old product build up from my hair - something even a double rinse of shampoo won't touch (no matter the brand). It's left my hair feeling more bouncy and fresh.
Having unboxed and tested out the products over the last few days there are a range of luxurious items too, Gallinée Face Vinegar, Balmonds Super 7 Serum, and Super Facialist Vitamin C+ brightening oil all caught my eye when opening. As they're regularly mentioned in the skincare industry for helping revitalise users' skin.
Of course, it goes without saying that there's a lot of attention paid to natural products, all of which are vegan. So if you, or you're shopping for someone who looks at every ingredient that goes into their soap is a great fit. You just need to look at the full-sized Faith in Nature body wash and wild cotton soap for that.
However, there were a few items I wasn't so impressed with. To start off, box number 25 was anticlimactic, considering the majority of us eagerly await to see what's hidden behind the Christmas Day number the size did disappoint me (I won't give a spoiler in case you still want an element of surprise).
Other products I felt were 'added in at the last minute' were the Eco Wrist Wash Bands and the Magnitone Wipeout Swipes (reusable face pads). Don't get me wrong; I can appreciate the touch of reusable products, but I do think most shoppers will already have similar products in their bathroom cupboards at home.

Is the Holland & Barrett Beauty Advent Calendar worth buying? Overall, I'd say yes, purely down to you can get your hands on for £45. Considering if bought separately, these would set shoppers back £219, there's no question that it offers value for money. However, as we mentioned, it is completely sold out. But for those looking for an alternative, the retailer has recently launched a which is worth £40.
There are plenty of beauty advent calendars still in stock elsewhere, though - some of which have even been reduced. One of the most popular has been the Marks and Spencer Worth over £300, anyone who spends £35 on beauty, fashion or home will be able to buy the festive countdown for £50.
