Fans were left in awe after an unexpected moment during a Coldplay concert when Chris Martin halted the show to save a young boy from being crushed in the crowd.

While performing on stage, hundreds of concertgoers recorded the Coldplay frontman as he noticed the boy in distress. Chris suggested the child be brought forward to the front, saying: "so he doesn't get squashed by the adults".

The band was performing at Accor Stadium in Sydney as part of their Music of the Spheres World Tour. In a clip posted to TikTok by @blinybrandao, Chris was seen telling the boy: "You can sit right here, you don't have to be squeezed."

The crowd lifted the young boy over the barrier and placed him safely in a section next to security. "You don't have to be squished by all these adults," Chris reassured him.

"Sit right there, my little brother...better? We'll take care of you, man."

Fans were immediately left touched by the heartwarming moment. One person wrote in the comments section: "Chris is so thoughtful." Meanwhile, another wrote: "I like him."

Just last week, the 47-year-old musician experienced a mishap on stage during his performance at Melbourne's Marvel Stadium, when he accidentally fell backward through a hidden door, as seen in footage shared on social media.

After the incident, Martin can be heard telling fans "that's not planned" before thanking a member of production staff for catching him as he fell, adding: "Holy s***, that was nearly a YouTube moment."

The singer continued with the show after the incident and appeared unharmed.

It came after the band secured the biggest opening week for a UK act in the last three years with their 10th studio album Moon Music last month.

The album became the band's 10th consecutive chart-topper after it achieved 237,000 UK chart units.

The popular British rock band was formed in 1997 and consists of members Chris Martin, Jonny Buckland, Guy Berryman, and Will Champion. They gained worldwide fame with their breakout hit "Yellow" in 2000, and their success continued with albums like A Rush of Blood to the Head, Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends, and Ghost Stories.
