Jiohotstar Update: Amid the discussions around the domain ownership of Jiohotsar.com heres a new twist that will surprise you like anything. In a very generous offer reflecting on their website the new Dubai based owners of the site have decided to offer the domain to Mukesh Ambanis Reliance free of cost.
With all the discussions happening we now think it might be best for Team Reliance to have this domain if they want it. We are happy to give jiohotstar.com to them for free with all the proper paperwork. To be clear this is entirely our choice. No one from Reliance or any legal group has contacted us or pressured us in any way. We made this decision on our own without any pressure from friends family or anyone else the sibling owners said on their website.
New deal for Mukesh Ambani led Reliance
If Reliance is interested they can contact us at jainam@1xl.com or jivika@1xl.com and we will handle the transfer smoothly. If they are not interested that’s okay too. We will continue to share updates about our journey and work they added.
About the possibility of reselling the site they said Recently we received many emails from people wanting to buy the domain. To check if these offers were real we reached out to some of them. We found that while some offers were fake a few were serious and offered a lot of money. But even with these genuine offers we never wanted to sell the domain. We made this clear by replying to everyone that the domain was not for sale.
History of ownership at Jiohotstar domain
For those unversed the Dubai based siblings bought the Jiohotstar domain from a young developer in Delhi to help him with his education.
The domain-ownership story of Jiohotstar started with a Delhi-based developer who keenly registered JioHotstar.com in 2023 in light of predicted merger between JioCinema and Hotstar. With sights set on its prospective merit in the times to come he knocked on Reliances doors proposing 1 crore rupees ambitions of financing an executive MBA at Cambridge in his heart.
Predictably as many many reports said reality didnt match his dream and Reliance rejected the offer to pay him the sought amount. With mounting legal periods and technical troubles sprouting our dreamer decided to step back opting to sell the domain which soon found a home with Jainam and Jivika Jain from Dubai.
